Budding bakers at Rydal Penrhos took to the kitchen for a special event.
As part of the school’s week-long programme in support of National Boarding Week, houses battled it out for bragging rights at the Great Rydal Penrhos Bake-Off, which was held on Wednesday, June 21.
A number of teams got creative to come up with a series of eye-catching creations, which were then judged by teacher Lynne Williams.
After a highly competitive and fun-filled evening, the Best Technical Skill award went to the duo of Anna Richardson and Elinor for their stunning final product.
The Best Overall Concept went to the Edwards House team consisting of Samiya Garrod, Rugby Hodgson and Orla McGagh, who drew inspiration from their stunning boarding building for their masterpiece, while the Best Boys’ Cake went to the Hathaway House duo of Luca Leggieri and Aurelian Brovot for their “H” themed tasty treat.
This is the latest in a series of event that Rydal Penrhos has arrange in support of the nationwide initiative, which has seen everything from Inflatable Obstacle Course racing to taking on each other in a version of the ITV quiz show The Chase.
Mrs Williams, said: “Well done to Edwards House, who built their creation like their boarding house, with flags representing all the nationalities within the house and there were silver balls representing each girl that was staying there, complete with sea and sand!
“Hathaway’s Harry Potter 'H' with silver snakes running through the design was another brilliant piece, with the best technical design created by day pupils Elinor Davies and Anna Richardson also a treat on the eye.
“Everyone who contributed made a really impressive attempt - well done!”
