Generous pupils at Rydal Penrhos will take part in a special fundraising initiative next weekend.
A number of volunteers from the school will be participating in the annual bag packing fundraising drive at Morrisons, Colwyn Bay on Saturday, January 28 in aid of national maritime charity, the RNLI.
Staff and pupils will spend the day helping customers pack their groceries in exchange for a donation, and the event will run from 9am to 4pm.
Thanks to the hard work of both pupils and staff, a total of £669 was raised in total from their efforts last year, and comes on the back of the school’s recent Christmas Carol Service which was held for the same charity.
Deputy head Tim Cashell, said: “We are very proud of our association with the RNLI, who provide a superb and critical service along our coastlines.
“It has been an extremely successful fundraising event over the years and I hope that we can carry on this fine tradition on Saturday.”
Work on a new lifeboat station in Llandudno, began last April and the project is set to cost around £2.6 million.
The new station, based at Craig-y-Don on the town’s promenade, is expected to receive the new boat later this year.
