A talented track and field star at Rydal Penrhos turned in another medal-winning performance at a high-profile regional meet recently.
Jonathan Osbourne, a Year 8 pupil at the school, added his list of recent accolades at the Wrexham Games, which featured some of the best athletes from across the region earlier this month.
The 12-year-old produced another fantastic effort in the 100-metre sprint category, qualifying for the final and earning a third-place finish as a result of his outstanding performance.
The academic and sports scholar also performed well in the 200m event, narrowly missing out on a second medal after crossing the line in fourth sport.
This is the latest in a series of impressive achievements over the summer from the Colwyn Bay Athletics Club star, who has developed his knowledge and conditioning considerably as part of Rydal Penrhos’ dedicated sports scholarship programme.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Jonathan’s continued dedication to developing his considerable talent is bringing some deserved and outstanding results, and hopefully this is a trend that can continue long into the future as he progresses throughout our sports scholarship scheme.
“He is a very hard-working young man who displays the right attitude to get better in everything he does, and his conduct is also exemplary which is another trait we look to embed into each pupil under our care here at Rydal Penrhos.”
