Preparatory School artists showcased their superb work at a special competition.
Rydal Penrhos’ annual Prep Inter-House Art competition took place before the Easter break, and further highlighted the incredible work being done across all year groups under the inspirational leadership of teacher Suzy Morris.
There were a host of different categories which brought plenty of colour and imagination to the event, with Mrs Morris given the unenviable task of judging each design and deciding on the overall winners.
The Year 3 competition centred on their work surrounding Van Gogh self-portraits, and Bill Gan gain the first place certificate, with Charlie Hulme and George Rozek in second and third respectively.
Year 4 also produced some wonderful collage portraits as part of their contribution to the competition, with Lily Copeland claiming first place and Tilly Trueman in second.
Amelia Williams and Jorgie Lynch were awarded joint-third to round off the placings.
Self-portraits with hats were the prominent feature for the Year 5 category, and Rana Abou-Samra, Daisy Yates and Cieran Milligan secured first, second and third thanks to their sterling commitment.
Rounding off the competition were Year 6 and their fantastic Mexican Retablos, which saw Liam Farrell scoop first place, Harrison McKinnel in second and Will Rutherford in third.
Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “The standard of entries submitted for our Art competition was nothing short of outstanding, and congratulations go to each pupil that took part for all their incredibly hard work.
“Mrs Morris does an exceptional job of promoting creativity and inspiring each child under her care, something that is bringing with it fantastic results.”
