Annual October Open Morning draws significant numbers to RP

A significant number of prospective pupils and their families descended on Rydal Penrhos for its annual October Open Morning.

Dozens of prospective pupils visited the school on Saturday, October 6, where they were given a warm welcome by staff and pupils alike.

During the four-hour event there was plenty for visitors to see, including various demonstrations from different departments including drama, the sciences, art and physical education.

Visitors also got the chance to hear from Headmaster Simon Smith, who kicked off proceedings with a special welcoming address for families in attendance.

This was followed by pupil experiences from Deputy Head Boy Miles Poller and Deputy Head Girl Nuria Montolio, who both spoke extremely well about their time at the school and just how much it has influenced them.

Following the tours, a number of staff and pupils were also on hand to greet visitors at the newly refurbished Ferguson Centre following their individual tours, where they answered any questions regarding life at Rydal Penrhos and the wealth of academic and extra-curricular activities they are presented with on a daily basis.

They were also able to enjoy a lavish spread put on by the school’s catering providers Holroyd Howe.

Mr Smith, said: “It was the busiest and best Open Morning event since I arrived as Headmaster of Rydal Penrhos School.

“As ever the pupils were magnificent in their acting as ambassadors for the School but I know that both behind the scenes and in many cases Front of House too our staff were instrumental in helping the morning run so smoothly.

“I had nothing but good reports from parents, Grandparents and so on about their experiences, the activities they saw, the presentation of the site, so many thanks to all involved.”

Anyone that missed out on our Open Morning but would still like to book an individual tour can do so by emailing admissions@rydalpenrhos.com or calling 01492 530155.
