Staff and pupils at Rydal Penrhos are being encouraged to take part in an annual food drive this week.
The collection for this year’s Harvest Festival is now well underway, with the school seeking cans of dried or tinned foods to donate to two worthy causes.
Rev. Nick Sissons, Chaplain at Rydal Penrhos, said: “The need is still very great, and we would ask that every pupil become involved – whether it be individually or as a group – so that we can help those less fortunate than ourselves this autumn.
“Anyone wishing to donate any dried or tinned foods can do so by leaving them in reception or in the chapel.
“Although the need is as great as ever, the Food Bank is awash with tins of soup, so please don’t bring any of those.”
The tins that are collected will be distributed between Action for Children and the Conwy Food Bank.
Food can be brought right up until the Harvest service on Friday, October 20, and Conwy Food Bank has provided a list of items that they are in desperate need of:
Tins of Ham, Tins of Corned Beef, Breakfast Cereals, Tins of Sausage & Beans, Tins of Ravioli or Spaghetti Jars of Bolognese Sauce, Jars of Pasta Sauce, Microwave Rice, Savoury Rice, Cuppa Soups, Tinned fruit, Tins or sachets of Custard.
