Annual Harvest Food Drive generates enormous support from school community

Generous staff and pupils at Rydal Penrhos once again gave a significant contribution to the school’s annual autumn food drive.

The collection for this year’s Harvest Festival was seeking cans of dried or tinned foods to donate to the two worthy causes chosen this year by the school, which have now been split between Action for Children and the Conwy Food Bank, who will distribute it to needy families throughout the region.

A host of items were donated by staff, pupils and their families to ensure that the yearly campaign was a tremendous success.

Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “This is something that we have organised for a number of years and many thanks go to the Reverend Nick Sissons for ensuring that the Food Drive was another triumph.

“We are very proud of our charity work here at Rydal Penrhos, which sees us raise much-needed funds for very worthy causes for regional and national projects through various events throughout the academic year.

“Our Harvest Food Drive continues to be a significant part of this and I hope that this will continue long into the future.”

The items were on display at St John’s Church during the annual Harvest Festival, which was the last event before the two-week half term break on Friday, October 20.
