A group of former pupils returned to Rydal Penrhos as part of a special event for university hopefuls.
As part of the school’s annual Higher Education Preparation Day on Friday, June 15, four seven ex-Rydal Penrhosians took part in a special question and answer session with the Lower Sixth Form group.
During the session Edward Lunt, Adele Parry, Grace Patrick and Laura () spoke about their experiences since departing Rydal Penrhos, and offered advice to those in attendance about what they can expect when they head off on the next stage of their journey.
This was part of a day-long series of activities for the Year 12 group as they begin to explore their further education and employment options following the completion of their respective examinations next year.
This included a visit from Cardiff Met University representative Heather Eyland, who holds the position of Student Recruitment Marketing Officer and explained the UCAS process, including providing some helpful hints to make their application stand out from the crowd.
Head of Sixth Form Peter Lavery, said: “Our Higher Preparation Day is an essential part of the planning process for our Year 12 as they look forward to an extremely busy final year at Rydal Penrhos and the next stage of their respective journeys.
“Getting first hand experiences from Alumni is a great way for them to get a broader perspective on what to expect from their University life, employment or even a gap year, and it was great to see Adele, Grace, Edward and Laura back with us and on behalf of everyone here I would like to thank them for giving up their time to speak with our Lower Sixth Formers.”
