A staff member at Rydal Penrhos discussed all things related to the school’s Alumni network ahead of a Year 7 project.
Sarah Ritchie, who holds the position of Alumni and Development director at the school, spoke with the entire Year 7 group on Thursday, March 15 regarding life after Rydal Penrhos and the benefits this can bring.
She began by explaining what the Rydal Penrhos Society entails and looked at some former members of the school that are currently employed at the site, including herself, Head of Lower School Gabriella Murphy and Head of Cricket Mike Leach.
Mrs Ritchie then looked at some famous alumni and their respective professions ranging from Pilots to Marine Biologists, and how this could help each pupil in terms of assistance and advice when they are choosing their respective career paths.
This was followed by a brief outline of where Rydal Penrhos alumni are based all around the world, and the different reunion events that are held throughout the year to keep you in touch with your schoolmates.
Things such as networking possibilities, different groups and sports teams organised by former pupils were also discussed, and each pupil received a copy of the Rydal Penrhos Society newsletter for them to get a broader indication of what to expect when their education journey ends at the school.
Mrs Murphy stated how “invaluable” it was to have such information presented to them at an early age, and they will take what they had discovered into a special project later this year.
