Two Preparatory School pupils achieved notable success from a regional art competition.
A large number of Rydal Penrhos pupils took part in a Colwyn in Bloom competition, which is run to promote the town’s phenomenal success in the national competition and was open to all Prep and Primary schools in the area.
They were tasked with painting a floral design, and Alexandra Lopez Moreno’s superb entry was awarded second place in the Year 2 category.
There was further success from a Prep School perspective in the form of Dean Mills, who also secured second place for his entry into the Year 1 category.
Both pupils attended a special presentation at Colwyn Bay Town Hall on Monday, July 8, where they received their certificates from Mayor Cllr Neil and Chair of the Colwyn in Bloom Committee Ingrid Lewis.
All winning entries will be displayed in the main room at the town hall throughout the summer.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “This is a fantastic event for the children throughout the community to get involved in and we are thrilled that Alexandra and Dean have received recognition for their fantastic commitment to their respective entries.
“They both worked exceptionally hard in producing two really eye-catching designs, and both Alexandra and Dean deserve a tremendous amount of credit for not only their efforts in this particular competition, but their overall dedication throughout the recently concluded academic year.”
