The entire Rydal Penrhos community came together for a special event to mark the end of the academic year.
Both Prep and Senior school pupils joined forces at the End of Term Celebration Service, which was held at St John’s Church on Friday, July 5.
Senior School Head Sally Ann Harding kicked-off the event with a welcoming address, before Sixth Form pupil Niamh Hall was joined by two children from Early Years in the ceremonial lighting of the candles.
Prep School Head Boy and Girl duo Ellis Lister-Brookes and Grace Watkins took to the pulpit for a reading, with the Year 8 trio of Eve Durrans, Lily Davies and Ruby Merrick also lending their support to the event.
The Reverend Nick Sissons then spoke on the topic of Memories, and asked pupils across differing year groups to place something in a basket that provided a significant event or memory from the last few months.
Emily Nurse, Cieran Milligan, Hania Ffowcs-Williams, Gruff Robinson-Scoots, Ella Lloyd-Bloom, Ivo Vonbank and Tallulah Batley, together with the teaching team of Catherine Culver and Claire Boyd, all recalled a prominent moment from the academic year that had filled them with various emotions.
Reverend Sissons then invited the congregation to speak amongst themselves regarding what their favourites memories were from a Rydal Penrhos perspective.
Newly appointed Head Boy Ioan Peake-Jones and Head Girl Millie Collins followed this with their own address, before Prep School Head Alison Hind closed out the event.
There were also musical performances to enjoy from teacher Richard Davies and Director of Music Pete Williams, with Reverend Sissons blowing out the candles to formally end the festivities and the 2018/19 academic year.
