An exceptional academic at Rydal Penrhos has produced an incredible set of GCSE results.
Gowri Pradeep, a Year 11 pupil at the school, was rewarded for her dedication and application to her studies with a standout
The 16-year-old achieved two scores of nine in English (First Language) and English Literature in accordance with the new grading system, which put in the top two percent of all pupils nationwide.
There was further success for the gifted pupil with an incredible eight A* grades in Art and Design, Biology, Chemistry, French, Geography, Mathematics, Physics and Religious Studies.
In addition Gowri managed to continue her remarkable achievement by securing a Distinction in Additional Mathematics, and she will now go on to study Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at A-level next month.
This success rounds off a memorable year at Rydal Penrhos for the pupil, who has finished runner-up in a regional Royal Society of Chemistry Competition, secured a silver certificate in the UK Maths Trust Intermediate Challenge and was also part of the school contingent that travelled to Uganda for a special charity mission.
Deputy head Tim Cashell, said: “This is a truly outstanding set of results from Gowri, who has worked incredibly hard throughout her GCSE curriculum and is thoroughly deserving of her success.
“She is going to be a marvellous asset to our Sixth Form and if Gowri continues to work hard then the sky is the limit as to what she can achieve.”
