Drama pupils at Rydal Penrhos got to learn from industry leaders on a recent visit.
The A-level group travelled to the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester on Wednesday, April 26, where they took in the William Shakespeare play Twelfth Night, featuring Kate O’Donnell, Daniel Francis-Swaby and Kevin Harvey, with Jo Davies taking the role of director.
This was part of their preparation for the upcoming Unit Four EdExcel examination, with Grace Patrick, Elishia Phillips, Adele Parry, Edward Lunt, Lodovica Cadena Torrero and Thomas Hamilton-Pritchard all receiving an added bonus as part of their trip.
Following the play, the group were able to sit down with the cast for a post-show discussion, where they spoke about performing a Shakespeare play and received some valuable tricks of the trade which will stand them in good stead ahead of exam season.
The excursion was the latest in a series of educational trips put on by the Drama department for both A-level and GCSE pupils, which ensure that they are maximise their learning in the hope of gaining significant exam success.

“It was an outstanding performance by Kate O’Donnell in what was a spectacular production of Twelfth Night.”
