A-level Art group hone skills during mock exam

A-level Art candidates honed their skills ahead of their respective examinations later this year.

The Year 13 Art and Art photography group took part in their mock exam on Thursday, April 19, where they practiced their designs in a controlled environment under the watchful eye of department head Mark Sherrington and teacher Suzy Morris.

There were a host of stunning pieces created throughout the day, with Elysia Gilman’s stunning portrait really catching the eye.

Becky Lawton’s creative design was another prominent feature of the examination, while Morgan Roberts’ eye for a good photo was more than evident with his fantastic collage.

The textile skills of Emily Cashell and Bethany Klazinga were displayed to full effect throughout, while Luca Leggieri’s photoshop nous resulted in an outstanding final piece.

It has been another hugely successful academic year at the department, with the programme continuing to benefit from the school’s support of the arts which has been part of Rydal Penrhos’ history for decades.

Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “Our A-level Art pupils have benefitted significantly from the passion and dedication shown by Mr Sherrington and Mrs Morris on a daily basis, and this is reflected by the exceptional work they have produced during the current academic year.

“Hopefully this will bring with it some impressive examination results in the summer, and everyone at Rydal Penrhos wishes them well with their efforts.”
