Rydal Penrhos is thrilled to announce the return of Andy Edgley as swimming coach.
The popular figure is no stranger to the school community, having coached both Prep and Senior groups for a number of years, and he will now be responsible for overseeing the swimming teaching provision at Rydal Penrhos as part of ongoing improvements to the curriculum and opportunities offered to each pupil living and learning at the site.
In addition to his coaching exploits, the highly-qualified Mr Edgley will also be responsible for the school’s competitive swimming squads, which have achieved a considerable amount of regional and national successes in recent years at prestigious events such as the Urdd Gala.
Work on improving the Swimming Pool - originally opened in 1964 - is set to be completed in time for the start of the academic year in September 2019.
Executive Principal Mr John Waszek, said: “A lot of hard work has gone into making the necessary changes to our Swimming Pool to ensure it is a sustainable asset for years to come.
“This is another massive boost for the exciting academic and co-curricular provision we provide as part of a well-rounded and exceptional education here at Rydal Penrhos.”
Simultaneously, all pupils from Reception through to Year 9 will receive a weekly swimming lesson as part of exciting curriculum changes.
The colour scheme at the pool will be based on a design created by Charlotte Knight after she was crowned winner of s special competition relating to the renovations.
